Botanical Garden

The Botanical Garden
OUR HISTORY
Extends over 30,000 m² and the current layout was created in 1990 following the design of the owner. The Quinta Splendida Botanical Garden has over 1,000 plant species with 650 plants being labelled and employs a team of six gardeners. The interpretation of the garden design ensures that continuous flowering is seen throughout the seasons. A wide variety of endemic species and plants are naturally cultivated in a promiscuous order. To some extent the plants have been imported from the Canary Islands and the owner has worked closely with the Botanical Garden in Funchal leading to an exchange of plant species.
